These Cathedral was inaugurated on december 8, 1711, it is considered the biggest and most beautiful cathedral built in Honduras.

THE WONDERS OF HONDURAS

The Region were Honduras is located is considered a biodiversity hotspot because of the numerous plants and animals species that you can find. Honduras has rain forests, cloud forests, mangrooves, savannas,and mountain ranges with pine and oak trees and the Mesoamerican Barrier Reef System.
The Honduran territory consists mainly of mountains, but there are narrow plains along the coasts, a large undevelped lowland jungle La Mosquitia region in the northeast, and the heavily populated lowland Sula valley in the northwest.
Honduras control a number of islands as part of its offshore territories. In the Carribbean Sea, the islands of Roatan, Utila, and Guanja together forming Bay islands, one in the eighteen departments into which Honduras is divided.The Bay Islands archipielago also has a number of smaller islands among htem the islets of Barbareta, Santa Elena and Morat. Farther out in the Carribean are the islas Santanillas, formely known as Swan Islands. A number of small islands and keys can be found nearby, among them Cayos Zapotillos and Cayos Cochinos. In the Gulf Fonseca, the main islands under Honduran Control are el tigre, Zacate Grande, Exposicion.
